THIMPHU: The body of a three-year-old girl, recovered from a bush in Jungshina, is suspected to have drowned in the reservoir tank of the Bhutan power corporation’s (BPC) mini-hydel while playing with her two brothers. It’s still not clear when or how the incident occurred. When the girl’s parents and friends searched for her around 5:00 pm on October 20, she was found buried in a bush nearby.

According to the supervisor, Chogyel Norbu, the tank was almost empty when the body of the child was spotted in the bush. “She might have fallen in the drain and been swept away by the force of the water towards the tank. Her body might have been fished out from the reservoir tank by the two brothers and hidden in the forest.”

The two brothers, however, couldn’t give a clear picture of the incident.
