PANCHTHAR: Senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday charged that the UCPN (Maoist) are intending to impose authoritarianism by declaring the autonomous states with the backing of its combatants. Speaking at a programme organised in Phidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar, leader Deuba accused the Maoists saying that they want to draft the new constitution without the integration of its combatants as they believe in the politics of violence.
The former prime minister said that the Maoists have obstructed the House for different pretexts as they do no want the new constitution.
He opined that the Maoists have started to become more anarchic by breaching the interim constitution and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
