SINDHULI: UCPN-Maoist secretary CP Gajurel said on Saturday that a people's revolt is necessary due to the government behaviour.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Revolutionary Journalist Association in Sindhuli, Gajurel said the Maoists cannot go against people's wishes. He said that the country may indulge in conflict due to the government apathy. He informed that the Maoists do not want a conflict but the government is compelling them for the same by ignoring their demand for civilian supremacy and correcting the move of the President on the Army Chief’s case.

He accused the ruling allies of the government the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML of plotting conspiracies to dissolve the Constituent Assembly. He also added that India and US are also involved in the game.

Commenting on the Kailali incident, Gajurel said that the incident was carried out under the direction of Home Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal. He also said that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was involved in the incident. In another context, he urged the government to take legal action against the attackers of female journalist Tika Bista who was assaulted by an unidentified gang in Rukum.
